Children’s Theatre

OTA Children’s Theatre offers one week workshops during school holiday breaks and ten week class sessions after school between holiday breaks. There are also production opportunities during the summer months.

Rehearsals – daily 3:30 – 5:30 and 5:45 – 7:45

Two performances – January 12 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

This ten week class session explores the wonders of creative story-telling and theatre basics through imaginative, interactive games. The final class ends with a showcase presentation to parents and invited guests where these enthusiastic thespians show us what they have learned.

Theatre builds confidence, it empowers children to express themselves and teaches them to collaborate with a team to tell a story.

‘PLAYCRAFT & DESIGN’ WINTER WORKSHOP, December 31 and January 2-5, 2019, ages 8 to 18

Explore the process of crafting and writing a play, participate in drama games to improve acting skills, complete the process with costume, hair and make-up design. And put on a show!

‘PLAY AND FILM PRODUCTION’ class session begins January 16, 3:30 to 5:30, ages 8 to 18

This ten class session for youth will provide a hands on crafting of an original play that will be produced, filmed and submitted for inclusion in the annual River and Ocean Film festival!
