Stardust Big Band

Stardust Big Band is excited to perform the contemporary jazz music of Daniel Barry.  The composer will conduct and perform his original compositions with Stardust Big Band in this very special event.  


Stardust Big Band is the North Olympic Peninsula’s premier big band jazz orchestra made up of many top jazz musicians in the region.  The 17-piece band presents vibrant renditions of the finest in big band jazz. Repertoire spans the era of American popular music from 1935 to the present. A typical performance includes many beloved classics from swing era luminaries such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie,  Glenn Miller, and many more.

  • VIP $50 advance only, limited availability. Call the box office Tues-Friday 1-4pm at 360-683-7326.  Includes best seats in the house, exclusive meet-and-greet with the composer after the show, and a complementary glass of wine, beer or soft drink.

Daniel Barry’s music falls primarily into the jazz category but assembles ideas from Afro-Cuban and Brazilian musical traditions.  He  conducts concerts of his compositions for large jazz orchestra with professional and student ensembles throughout South America, Europe and North America. 


Mr. Barry is the recipient of an Artist Trust Fellowship, a Fulbright Scholarship, a 4Culture grant, and Composer-in-Residence appointments in Campinas, Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Visby, Sweden, and Chelva, Spain.  He composes and performs regularly in the Seattle area with the Jim Cutler Jazz Orchestra, and his chamber music groups 2 Hemispheres and Walk All Ways, and was the music director for the Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra.
